Joel Walker Joel Walker is a psychiatrist and photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Early in his career, he discovered the power of photographs in therapy and pioneered a treatment method based on photo images. He developed the Walker Visuals, which are used in workshops and medical schools, including Harvard Medical School. For more than twenty-five years, he has been using photographs and interactive camera work in his practice. In 1995, Life magazine featured a photo essay on Dr. Walker’s use of phototherapy. Joel Walker’s interactive exhibition of photographs, We May Never Die, was presented in Mexico and the Czech Republic in 2000. He launched his online book Portraits of the Human Spirit: Lessons in Living in February 2007. His most recent book, The Spirit of the Ride: The RCMP Musical Ride, was published in October 2007.
